Russian Architecture

4th grade looked at the amazing architectural designs of the churches in Russian! We observed how they looked more like something from a fairy tale then real life. Check out this building in Russia known as St. Basil's!

We used these buildings as inspiration to create our own buildings covered in patterns and bright colors. We used markers to color our buildings and then cut them out and attached them to a brightly painted sky of our choice. Check out these ones from Mrs. Serwe's Class.

Doxies in Sweaters

1st grade did a study on pattern and used the idea of cute little Doxies in sweaters! Anyone who owns a Doxie knows they like to be extra warm and often find a soft blanket to roll up in. When they do have to go outside they need sweaters to keep them warm in the chilly weather. Check out these awesome sweaters by Mrs. Cunniff's class.

Little Green

Kindergarten read the book Little Green by Keith Baker. After reading the book students practiced drawing different kinds of lines. Students created 6 lines on their paper: horizontal, vertical, zig-zag. wavy, diagonal and loopy. Once complete they outlined and colored them in like a puzzle. Students finished them off by coloring a humming bird to cut out and glue on, just like in the book! Check out these by Mrs. Roehrig's kindergarten class.
